At Northwest Hope & Healing our goal is to help as many local breast cancer patients as possible. We want mothers to feed their children AND seek treatment. We want to ensure reliable transportation to daily radiation treatments. A majority of our funds go to Swedish to provide non-medical support services for breast cancer patients in need, in addition to assembling and delivering our signature Healing Baskets.
Our ultimate goal is to deliver Healing Baskets to all of Swedish's campuses, which include First Hill, Providence, and Ballard, as well as the Swedish Cancer Institute affiliates at Northwest, Valley General, Stevens, and Highline Hospital in Burien.
Northwest Hope & Healing provides the following services to women receiving breast-cancer treatment:
- Child Care
- Meals
- Transportation
- Emergency Rent
- Utilities
The dedicated and caring team of volunteers through Northwest Hope & Healing also create "Healing Baskets" which are filled with items of personal care and comfort.
